Tesla Model Y or Skoda Enyaq: which electric SUV costs less in Belgium?
Model Y RWD versus Enyaq 85: true cost over 4 years and 80,000 km through a company, for an employee, a self-employed person and a private individual. A gap of €133 to €241 per month, item by item.
In short: the Tesla Model Y RWD costs less than the Skoda Enyaq 85 in every scenario. Over 4 years and 80,000 km, the gap ranges from €133 a month for a self-employed person to €241 a month for a private individual. Through a company, the Model Y works out at €642 a month all in, against €816 for the Enyaq. The main reason is the purchase price: a €18,190 gap, which the Enyaq's better resale value only partly offsets.
The two versions compared#
| Tesla Model Y RWD | Skoda Enyaq 85 Selection | |
|---|---|---|
| List price | €39,990 | €58,180 |
| Power | 188 kW | 210 kW |
| Battery | Standard, 534 km WLTP | 82 kWh (77 kWh usable) |
| Consumption | 13.1 kWh/100 km | 15.5 kWh/100 km |
The two cars are not quite in the same price bracket: the Enyaq 85 is a generously equipped version with a large battery. A less well-equipped Enyaq would narrow the gap. You can calculate it with the button at the bottom of the page.
The true cost for your situation#
Total cost over 4 years, after tax, net of resale value:
| Profile | Model Y | Enyaq 85 | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| SRL, director's car | €30,802 (€642/month) | €39,153 (€816/month) | €174/month |
| SRL, employee's car (cost to the company) | €29,385 (€612/month) | €37,417 (€780/month) | €168/month |
| Self-employed, 80% business use | €21,775 (€454/month) | €28,155 (€587/month) | €133/month |
| Private individual | €37,494 (€781/month) | €49,040 (€1,022/month) | €241/month |
For a director's car, the cost includes the tax the director pays on their benefit in kind (ATN). For an employee's car, it includes the CO2 solidarity contribution paid to the NSSO (€508 a year, the minimum for an electric car in 2026).
The gap narrows for a self-employed person or a company because tax absorbs part of the difference: the more expensive the car, the bigger the tax saving. That is not enough to reverse the result.
Item by item#

| Charging | €5,207 | €6,160 |

| Disallowed expense linked to the benefit in kind (corporate income tax) | €541 | €598 |
| Company tax saving | −€10,275 | −€13,847 |
| Director's tax on the benefit in kind | €3,042 | €3,362 |
| Consolidated cost | €30,802 | €39,153 |
Amounts rounded to the nearest euro. VAT is included in the purchase price; the recoverable share (50% at most for a car) is included in the company's tax saving.
Three items make the difference:
- Depreciation: €21,100 for the Model Y, €29,900 for the Enyaq. This is by far the biggest item.
- Insurance: proportional to the vehicle's value, €1,716 more over 4 years for the Enyaq.
- Charging: the Model Y uses 15% less energy, a difference of around €950 over 80,000 km.
What about tax?#
On this front, the two cars are almost level, because both are electric:
- Registration tax: €78.88 in Brussels and €61.50 in Flanders. In Wallonia, it depends on power and weight: around €929 for either car.
- Road tax: €107.18 a year in Brussels and Wallonia, €69.72 in Flanders.
- Deductibility: 100% for an order placed by 31 December 2026 at the latest, 95% in 2027. See why to order before the end of the year.
- Benefit in kind: 4% of 6/7 of the list value, with a minimum of €1,690 in 2026. The Model Y sits at the minimum. The Enyaq exceeds it by around €180 a year on average, i.e. barely €80 more tax a year for the driver.
For an employee choosing within a car policy, the difference in personal cost is therefore minimal. It is for the employer that the gap matters.
Our verdict#
- Tight budget or fleet: the Model Y, without hesitation. Savings of around €8,400 over 4 years per vehicle through a company.
- Long range or boot space a priority: the Enyaq 85 holds its own, but compare it with a better-equipped Model Y rather than the entry-level version.
- In every case: negotiate. A discount of a few thousand euros on either car changes the gap, and the calculation takes two minutes to redo.
Our assumptions#
- Use: 4 years, 20,000 km a year, cash purchase at list price with no discount (prices recorded in September 2026), order in October 2026, Brussels, comprehensive (omnium) insurance.
- Charging: half at home (€0.30/kWh), half at public charging points (€0.65/kWh), 3% increase per year.
- Tax: SRL at the 20% SME rate, 80% business use, director taxed at 45% on their benefit in kind, self-employed person at a 45% marginal rate. Tax amounts calculated from the official Belgian scales, checked on 17 September 2026.
- Resale: estimated by our used-car valuation engine, which takes into account age, mileage, powertrain, body style, gearbox, brand and engine reliability, and is calibrated on more than 5,000 real used-car listings published in Belgium. This is the most uncertain assumption: Tesla's prices change often, which weighs on the value of its used cars.
Tax rules change: check the legislation in force before making any decision.
